Efforts to Improve Critical Thinking Abilities Using Pictute and Picture in Class III Students at Piring State Elementary School

The aim of this research is to improve critical thinking skills using the picture and picture learning model for class III students at Piring elemtary school, Sanden, Bantul. The method used is classroom action research. The subjects in this research were class III students at Piring state elemtary school. The object of the research is critical thinking skills using the picture and picture learning model. The instruments required are learning process observation sheets, observation sheets for students' critical thinking abilities, and test questions. The mechanism in the explanation is carried out in a quantitative descriptive manner. The cycles required in this research are two cycles using the picture and picture learning model during the learning process. Data obtained from research shows that the critical thinking abilities of class III students at Piring elementary school have increased after using the picture and picture learning model in the thematic learning process for theme 5 weather. This increase in ability can be seen from the increase in students' critical thinking abilities from a pre-cycle average score of 68, increasing to 73 in cycle I and experiencing another increase in cycle II of 76. Students who achieved the success criteria achieved an increase of 54.55% in pre-cycle . cycle increased to 63.64% in cycle I and obtained another increase in cycle II, namely 77.27%. The observation results also showed an increase in the learning process by 64.28 in cycle I to 92.85 in cycle II. Student activity also increased by 40 in cycle I and increased again to 80 in cycle II.
