Students’ Perception In Learning English At The Eleventh Grade Of SMAN 1 Bangkinang Kota

This study is determined to analyze students’ perception in English learning as a compulsory subject. The research used quantitative descriptive used questionnaire as an instrument. The researcher used simple random sampling. The population of this study is all students at eleventh grade of SMAN 1 Bangkinang Kota was 383 students. The sample of this research are XI Social 1, XI Social 2, and XI Social 3 of SMAN 1 Bangkinang Kota that were 38 students as sample. The data analysis technique used was quantitative descriptive analysis by percentage. The results of the research on students’ perception in English learning of SMAN 1 Bangkinang Kota, it can be concluded that they are in the “positive perception” 37% (14 students). The process learning indicators are in the category “strongly positive” 42% (16 students). From the individual personality indicators are in the category “moderate” 28% (11 students). As for the interest indicators are in the category “positive” 40% (15 students).
